Directions

Step 1

Soak the saffron in warm water and set aside. Rinse and soak basmati rice for 30 minutes.

Step 2

In a bowl, mix beef mince with ginger paste, garlic paste, and yogurt.

Form small meatballs, known as ‘moti’.

Step 4

Heat ghee in a pot. Fry onions until golden brown, then remove half for garnishing.

Step 5

Add green cardamom, cinnamon, cloves, and bay leaves to the remaining onions. Stir for a minute.

Step 6

Add the meatballs to the pot and cook until browned. Add soaked rice and sauté gently.

Step 7

Pour in the saffron water and enough water to cook the rice. Cover and cook on low heat until rice is done.

Step 8

Garnish with fried onions and serve hot.
