Directions

Step 1

Cut the tofu into bite-sized cubes and set aside.

Step 2

Peel and slice the kabocha into thin slices, about 1 cm thick.

Step 3

In a large pan, heat 1 Tbsp of sesame oil over medium heat. Add the tofu and cook until golden brown on all sides. Remove and set aside.

Step 4

In the same pan, add the remaining sesame oil and sauté the garlic until fragrant.

Step 5

Add the kabocha slices and cook for 5-7 minutes until slightly tender.

Step 6

Stir in the yuzu juice, soy sauce, and mirin.

Step 7

Return the tofu to the pan and mix well. Cook for another 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld. Add salt and pepper to taste.

Step 8

Garnish with shiso leaves before serving. Serve hot and enjoy.
