    1. Heat clarified butter in a pan, add black cardamom, whole black pepper, cumin seeds, cloves, cinnamon and bay leaves; sizzle it.
    2. Add onion and fry until light brown.
    3. Now put in potato and chicken pieces and sauté over medium heat for 5-7 minutes.
    4. Add the soaked rice, turmeric, chili powder, garam masala powder and salt and stir. Add 3 cups hot water and mix again. When it comes to a boil, reduce heat to low, cover the pan with a lid and cook for 15-20 minutes or until the rice is done.
