Directions

Step 1

Wash and soak the rice in water for 30 minutes. Drain and set aside.

In a large pot, heat oil and fry the onions until golden brown. Remove half for garnishing.

Add ginger paste, garlic paste, cumin, coriander, cardamom, and cinnamon to the pot. Stir well.

Add chicken pieces to the pot and cook until browned. Mix in yogurt and simmer for 10 minutes.

Step 5

In a separate pot, boil rice with salt until half-cooked. Drain and layer over the chicken.

Step 6

Cover the pot with a tight-fitting lid.

Step 7

Cook on low heat for 15 minutes.

Step 8

Garnish with fried onions before serving.
