Directions

Step 1

Soak the basmati rice in water for 30 minutes. Drain and set aside.

In a large pot, melt butter and sauté onions until golden brown. Add garlic and ginger, cooking until fragrant.

Boil 4 cups of water in another pot. Add soaked rice and cook until 70% done. Drain and set aside.

Layer the chicken mixture and rice in a large pot, sprinkling saffron between layers.

Step 6

Cover and cook on low heat for 15 minutes. Serve hot, garnished with fresh cilantro.
