Directions

Step 1

Soak basmati rice in water for 30 minutes. Drain and set aside.

In a large pot, boil water and add rice. Cook until 70% done, then drain.

Step 3

In a pan, heat oil and fry sliced onions until golden brown. Remove and set aside.

Step 4

In the same oil, add garlic, ginger, cumin, and cardamom. Sauté for a minute.

Add chicken pieces and cook until lightly browned. Stir in yogurt, saffron, and rose water.

Layer rice and chicken in a pot, top with fried onions. Cover and cook on low heat for 20 minutes.
