Directions

Step 1

Rinse the rice thoroughly and soak in water for 30 minutes. Drain before cooking.

Step 2

In a large pot, heat oil and fry onions until golden brown. Remove half for garnishing.

Add garlic, ginger, and green chili to the pot. Stir in cut chicken pieces and cook until lightly browned.

Step 4

Add yogurt, garam masala, and salt. Cook on low heat until chicken is tender.

Step 5

In another pot, boil water with salt. Add rice and cook until half done. Drain and layer over chicken.

Step 6

Sprinkle mint and coriander leaves on top.

Step 7

Cover tightly and cook on low heat for 15 minutes.
