Directions

Step 1

Soak saffron strands in warm water and set aside. Soak figs in warm water for 10 minutes, then blend into a smooth paste.

Step 2

Heat oil in a pan, add sliced onions and sauté until golden brown. Remove and blend into a paste.

In the same pan, add ginger and garlic paste, cook for 2 minutes. Add chicken pieces and cook until lightly browned.

Add yogurt, onion paste, fig paste, and saffron water. Stir well and cook for 5-7 minutes.

Step 5

Add coriander powder, cumin powder, garam masala, and salt. Mix thoroughly and cover. Cook for 20 minutes on low heat.

Step 6

Garnish with additional saffron strands and serve hot with naan or rice.
