Directions

Step 1

Wash the rice thoroughly and soak it in water for 20 minutes. Drain and set aside.

Clean the prawns and marinate them with turmeric powder and a pinch of salt. Set aside for 10 minutes.

Heat oil in a pan. Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown. Add garlic and ginger paste, and cook for another 2 minutes.

Mix in mustard paste and green chilies. Stir well for about 2 minutes until the oil separates.

Add the marinated prawns to the pan. Cook until they turn pink and are cooked through.

Add the soaked rice and gently stir to combine. Pour in 4 cups of water and bring to a boil.

Reduce heat, cover, and let it simmer until the rice is fully cooked. Garnish with chopped cilantro before serving.
