Garlic bread dough stuffed with cheesy macaroni mixture and baked to perfection.

PASTA IN GARLIC BREAD

Ingredients

1½ cups macaroni, boiled
1 teaspoon garlic powder
2½ cups refined flour (maida) + for dusting
2 teaspoons all-purpose seasoning
Crushed black peppercorns to taste
1½ teaspoons red chilli flakes
1½ teaspoons dried mixed herbs
2 tablespoons activated yeast
1 cup white sauce
¼ cup butter
1 tablespoon finely chopped garlic
½ teaspoon Mexican seasoning

Method

1. Mix together flour, all-purpose seasoning, crushed peppercorns, garlic powder, 1 teaspoon chilli flakes and 1 teaspoon mixed herbs in a bowl. Add activated yeast and knead into a soft dough. Cover with a cling film and set aside to prove.
2. Preheat oven to 180º C.
3. Mix together macaroni and white sauce in another bowl.
4. Knock back the dough and divide into equal portions. Place on a dusted worktop and roll out into thin discs.
5. Place a generous portion macaroni mixture in the centre, bring the edges together and wrap into a parcel.
6. Place the parcels on a baking tray, put the tray in the preheated oven and bake for 12-15 minutes.
7. Mix together butter, garlic, remaining chilli flakes, Mexican seasoning, crushed peppercorns and remaining mixed herbs in another bowl.
8. Brush the parcels with some butter mixture and bake for 5-10 minutes more.
9. Serve hot.
