Mashed Potatoes are a good ,old fashioned and traditional recipe. Served normally with other dishes, they are comfort food thus can be eaten alone. An international favorite, this a a simple yet a delicious recipe.
MASHED POTATOES
Ingredients
4-5 medium potatoes, peeled
Salt to taste
½ cup milk
1 tablespoon butter
¼ teaspoon nutmeg (jaiphal) powder
1 teaspoon chopped fresh parsley
Fresh parsley sprig for garnishing
Method
1. Heat sufficient water in a deep non-stick pan. Add salt and boil.
2. Cut potatoes into cubes, add and boil till potato cubes turn soft. Mash and strain in another non-stick pan.
3. Place pan back on heat, add milk and mix well till smooth. Add butter, nutmeg powder and parsley and mix well.
4. Garnish with parsley sprig and serve hot.
