La Gondola closed and went into voluntary liquidation but the Hotel remained open for Wedding Receptions.

Solved the problem. She was married here. She is trying to hold on to her marriage through the restaurant. She is dragging it down the same way, no doubt, her marriage failed.
As far as I know–this is a vague supposition/recollection–the UK show will be aired sometime this year or next. Forgot where I read it, but there's reason to hope.
The old UK Kitchen Nightmares was a genuinely great TV show. It saddens me to see what it's now become in the US.

I've seen one show where he was trying to help a Mexican restaurant and the chef burned the nachos! He got close to the joke of a chef and fumed "How the hell do you burn nachos?!" I can barely cook but nachos are something any moron can do.
It's funny how you can tell immediately if it's the UK show or the US show…no "music" in the background, no silly camera work and over the top cutting and editing, narration from Ramsay all make the UK version feel more genuine and intelligent
