  1. What really amazed me when my kids were younger, was that the school would tell me I couldn't send in cupcakes for birthdays, but it was ok to reward the kids with Pizza Hut coupons for reading. It just goes on and on…

  2. We have to teach children what is acceptable to eat, and feeding them chicken nuggets, pizza, breakfast crap etc each day isn't setting them up for a healthy lifestyle. They are creating the eating habbits of America. It doesn't matter how much they have engineered the processed food to coinside with the guidlines. Its the face value of what the children see with their eyes and can identify with at any mega fast good joint! Its sad.

  3. In addition, if you give a child a choice between chocolate and regular milk – they are going to serve chocolate. If the parents arn't there they are going to choose it, despite what you talk and teach about at school. In the schools I've seen here in Oregon, they have removed the strawberry milk which is supposed to be the worse out of the three.

  4. Furthermore I feel that the schools are sending the young children mixed message about what is healthy. Despite the fact that the cafeteria's are making sure that to a science that the daily intake is according to Ferderal guidlines, they are teaching kids that eating at McDonalds everyday is ok. They do this by feeding the children chicken nuggets everyday.

  5. Jaimie – I did a sociology study on this same topic and received the same experience and responses as you did in your venture in the States. It seems the response that the schools are following guidlines seems to be their fail-safe excuse for feeding our children crap. And they do have it down to an exact science down to the calories, amount etc. However I think what we should do is urge the government to go a step further and require healthy non processed foods1

  6. Thank you Jamie! The food revolution has really had a huge impact on my family! My kids have always loved fruits and veggies, but still liked fries and chicken nuggets a bit too much. After my 8 year old daughter watched your chicken nugget demonstration, she has completely turned them away. She even wants to start our own garden! Keep up the fight! We're right there with you! 🙂

  7. How do I start this conversation at my local school, Tillman Elementary, in Kirkwood, Missouri? I had a conversation with them just the other day and they are afraid of the edible gardening, stating that, "it might contaminate the students," and that teaming up with local farmers markets will never happen for "insurance reasons." What do I do about this?

We keep our fingers crossed for you and for your project.
I unfortunately can not make a petition because I'm Polish and not yet have a credit card. Long ago I sent you a letter and photos. Lots of damage but they were not watched

  9. Thank You Jamie so much for all you do my girls and I admire you so much.
Chicago is behind you babe! I am in shock about the choc. baby formula..omg we all really need to pay attention to what is going on with our children.
God Bless..Jenny & The Girls. xxx

  10. I used to get home from work on Friday evenings to watch your show. I hope that America will listen and here you for what some families are going through and start helping to control the weight of our upcoming generations.

I do hope to see you back on the tube. It is a good Revolution.

  11. I support the Food Revolution.

THANKS JAMIE for your genuinely good heart & this important work.

Crossing my fingers for future series, to build on the success from the last.

  12. Im Proud to also sign the petition, and also got everyone that i know to sign it, also i do a rewind of the show when it was on

  13. @andreabetty a specific breed is not why these birds are growing at the rate they are..it is because they are injecting these birds with antibiotics as growth-promoters so they can get bigger breast quicker. the result is the bird can not even stand or walk because it is sickened with so much crap the poor bird can not keep up with its own growth because it is growing tens time's faster then it should be..

  14. I was teaching in England when "School Dinners" was airing and was amazed by the changes implemented in the schools and the success it's been. I was glad to see it come here and thrilled not to see parents revolting this time. I'm currently teaching in a central New York high school and was appalled the other day when I walked past the cafeteria and saw a poster advertising breakfast cookies. I thought breakfast pizza was bad, but now we're encouraging our kids to eat cookies for breakfast?

  15. ~ I notice 4 'thumbs down' for this video (as of this writing).
What could there possibly be about this video (or revolution) NOT to like or support?
Either these naysayers are agents for the processed-food companies, bureacrats for the government, or boneheads who enjoy being contrary and are just plain disagreeble to everything that promotes well-being and common sense.
    Brilliant…

  16. @BlueSkies360 really? hrmmm my blog can prove otherwise, I have been taking pictures of my kids meals served to them on a daily basis for the last few weeks I can assure you they are not getting "fresh" foods. They are getting a bunch of reheated crap that the USDA has blessed us with.

  17. @gretchie35 actually chickens aren't filled with hormones they are a special breed these growers are using that has been bread to have larger breasts and that is why their little legs can't hold themselves up. That is the sad thing about this, even if this breed were taken out and "saved" because of their breeding there is nothing we could do to save them. The only right thing to do is to destroy this breed completely and raise normal chicken breeds.

  18. If we educate on other things in life why don't we educate on where and how are food is brought to the table..Jamie I have sent your petition to all my loved ones and I hope your Food Revolution comes to Georgia, and every state at that!! Again I truly thank you for all your hard work your our doing that needs to be done for our children in school. Educate Educate Educate! God Bless You Jamie Oliver

  19. If everyone saw "Food Inc" on how are animals are treated and slaughtered. How are poor chickens and cows are filled with so much hormones that even the chickens poor little body can not even catch up with the growth. Then the other movie that is out "The Cove" where it shows how now they are killing our Dolphins for meat which has tons of mercury in it.You are brilliant Jamie for doing this and again I applause you for everything your doing !

  20. @askcarrienow Well great news for you askcarrienow… this has Michelle Obama's hand all in it. This is part of her adgenda and all this work has been pre planned by Ryan Seacrest and Michelle Obama. Good news is that it will happen, too bad they are deciving the public to make it happen… I am all for this progam BTW just don't like the tactics used.

  21. Jamie: Please challenge Michelle Obama publicly to press her husband to get this crap out of every school in America! Apparently they have publicly stated that they eat only whole, organic foods, including vegetables and herbs from an organic garden right on the White House property (?). If the kind of food that American schools serve in their cafeteria is not good enough for their daughters, then it is not good enough for our sons and daughters either.

  22. ***** 🙂
Your work is excelent, Your energy is fabulous, your recipes are very healthy for all thanks !!!!

  23. Jamie, thanks for all you do. You are my hero!!! I'm a grandmother of 4 and have posted your petition on my Facebook page twice and sent email msgs asking people to sign and forward to everyone they know. Your hard work on behalf of our children will not go unrewarded. God bless you.

  24. It's hard to beleive that we do not have more than a million signitures. It is very sad. I love what Jamie is doing. What a great exsample of a humanitarian.

  25. Hurray! I am so glad you have had the energy and savvy to help change the eating habits of our kids in the USA. You have poured yourself out and your efforts are appreciated by so many. You are not alone. Alice Waters has also done amazing things in the Berkeley, Ca schools towards the cause. Let's hope it takes hold for generations to come! Thank you, thank you!!!!

  26. Thanks for your hard work with us, Jamie! We've got a long, long way to go, but I for one am on board! I remember a few years ago eating that processed food in high school. Most of my friends at school actually chose to eat chips and candy out of the snack machines at school instead of the mess that they served us in the cafeteria, which is obviously not a great alternative. Unfortunately, that was their only other option. The madness needs to stop, and we need to get angry!

  27. Love the show, love the message, my kids watch it with me, keep on keeping on and I will watch, love that you get so mad you swear, you MUST change your hair, it is the weirdest hair I have every seen.

  28. Since there isn't much info on the petition page I would like to know what exactly the petition is for? I love the idea that you are helping to bring healthy choices to our schools, but I hope I won't see it as a step for more goverment control. Parents can bring change on their own WITHOUT the help of the federal government. You do that by complaining… so please tell me Jamie Oliver, that you are not going to get our government envolved so that we are more controlled than we already are!
