Chicken Katsu:
Ingredients:
Boneless chicken fillets 2
Salt ½ tsp
Black pepper ½ tsp
Red chili flakes ½ tsp
Garlic powder ½ tsp
Chicken powder ½ tsp
Flour ½ cup
Egg 1
Bread crumbs 1 cup
Oil for frying
For Tonkatsu Sauce:
Tomato ketchup 3 tbsp
Soy sauce 2 tbsp
Brown sugar 2 tsp
Worcestershire sauce 2 tsp
Grated ginger 1 tsp
Minced garlic 1 tsp
For Serving:
Garlic rice 1 cup
Green onions (chopped) as required
Method:
For the chicken katsu marinate chicken with salt, black pepper, chicken powder, garlic powder and red chili flakes. Cover and place it in a fridge for ½ an hour. Then take 3 bowls, place flour in one bowl, beaten egg in the second bowl and bread crumbs in the third bowl. Now coat the chicken in the flour, then dip it in the egg and coat with bread crumbs. Then heat oil and fry well for about 3 minutes. Remove and set aside. For the tonkatsu sauce, in a bowl combine ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, ginger and garlic. Mix well. Lastly serve chicken katsu with garlic rice, tonkatsu sauce and garnish with chopped green onions.
Chocolate Strawberry Kabobs:
Ingredients:
Fresh strawberries 12-16
Large marshmallows as required
Brownies as required
Skewers or lollipops sticks as required
Melted chocolate or chocolate sauce ½ cup
Method:
First cut the brownies into bite size square pieces. Then stack strawberries, brownies and marshmallows on the skewers or lollipops sticks, starting and ending with strawberry. Now assemble skewers on wire rack and drizzle chocolate on each kabob. Then transfer them to fridge and allow the chocolate to set.
