Directions

Step 1

Clean the tilapia and marinate with turmeric and salt. Set aside for 15 minutes.

Heat mustard oil in a pan and shallow fry the tilapia until golden brown on both sides. Remove and let it cool.

In the same pan, add mustard seeds and let them splutter. Add chopped onions and garlic, sauté until golden.

Step 4

Add green chilies to the pan and cook for another minute. Remove from heat.

Step 5

In a bowl, mash the fried tilapia, add the sautéed onions, garlic, chilies, lemon juice, and coriander leaves. Mix well.

Step 6

Adjust seasoning with salt if needed. Serve the bhorta with steamed rice.
