Directions

Step 1

Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Soak for 30 minutes, then drain.

Step 2

In a large pot, heat oil and fry onions until golden brown. Remove half for garnishing.

Add ginger paste, garlic paste, cumin, and cardamom to the pot. Sauté for 2 minutes until fragrant.

Add chicken pieces and cook until they change color. Stir in yogurt and cook for 10 minutes.

Boil rice with salt and drain it half cooked. Layer rice over the chicken mixture.

Step 6

Dissolve saffron in rose water and sprinkle over rice. Cover and steam on low heat for 15 minutes.
