Directions

Step 1

Rinse the rice thoroughly and soak it in water for 30 minutes. Drain and set aside.

Heat oil in a large pan. Add onions and sauté until golden brown. Add tomatoes and cook for 5 minutes.

Add chopped carrots, peas, and potatoes. Stir well and cook for 10 minutes.

Add soaked rice, salt, and 4 cups of water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and cover the pan. Cook until rice is tender and water is absorbed, about 20 minutes.
