Directions

Step 1

Heat mustard oil in a pan until it begins to smoke lightly, then reduce the flame.

Step 2

Add cumin seeds and let them splutter for a few seconds to release aroma.

Step 3

Add finely chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.

Step 4

Add ginger and garlic paste, sauté for a minute until raw smell disappears.

Step 5

Now add chopped tomatoes and cook until the oil separates from the masala.

Mix in turmeric, coriander powder, and salt.

Step 7

Cook for 2–3 minutes on medium flame.

Step 8

Add green peas and a little water. Cover and cook for 10 minutes until peas soften.

Step 9

Gently add paneer cubes and mix well into the gravy.

Step 10

Crush and sprinkle kasuri methi. Stir gently and simmer for 5 more minutes.

Step 11

Turn off the flame. Let it rest covered for a few minutes before serving hot with roti or rice.
