Delicious freshly baked cookies topped with candied cherries
TEA COOKIES
Ingredients
225 gms refined flour (maida)
75 gms icing sugar
150 gms butter
1 egg
20-25 candied cherries
Method
1. Preheat oven at 220º C.
2. Sift sugar into a bowl, add butter and cream them together with an electric beater till smooth.
3. Break egg into the bowl and continue to beat with the beater.
4. Sift flour into the same bowl and mix well.
5. Divide dough into equal portions and shape them into balls. Flatten the balls and place them on a baking tray. Place a candied cherry on top of each cookie.
6. Place the tray in the preheated oven and bake for 7-8 minutes. Remove from oven and cool.
7. Serve or store in an airtight container.
