Orange Chiffon Cake
- Flour 2 – 1/2 cup
- Baking powder 1 tbsp
- Salt 1/2 tsp
- Orange rind 1 tbsp
- Orange juice 3/4 cup
- Oil 1/2 cup
- Eggs 7
- Olpers cream 1/2 tsp
- Caster sugar1- 1/4 cup
- Vanilla essence 1 tbsp
- Marmalade for glaze
Preheat oven on 170 degree C.
Sieve flour 3 times.
Mix Flour, Baking powder, Salt.
In another bowl beat egg yolk and 1 cup Sugar properly till become frothy.
Mix orange juice, oil, water, vanilla essence and marmalade and add to egg yolks.
Add this mixture to the flour mixture and with the help of a wooden spoon mix and fold properly.
Beat egg white properly like foam and add to the mixture.
Combine caster sugar and tartar cream and add to the cake mixture slowly.
You can also add raisin to the cake batter to give it fruity crunchy flavor.
Grease a 10 inch cake pan and pour the mixture into it.
Bake the cake in preheated oven for 45 to 50 minutes on 170 degree C.
When cake is ready, leave it to cool.
Lightly heat orange marmalade to make its consistency light.
Glaze with orange marmalade or just dust icing sugar and then serve.
